On January 27th 1920 the two brothers Joachim and Hans Kuers form the company Imperial-Oel-Import in Hamburg. Their business is focussed on import and distribution of petroleum by-products. Customers served in the company's early years mainly belong to chemical industry. In the course of time the range of products expands to a wide range of oleochemical specialties. Products are obtained from European producers and increasingly also from overseas suppliers. In addition to its traditional import business the company becomes more and more successful in the field of exports.When Wolfgang Kromer becomes managing director in 1975 Imperial-Oel-Import's history shows a long list of reputable clients supplied in chemical industry, cosmetics and pharmaceutical business, in metal industry, in food and feed production.
